Here Be Dragons: Joy in a World We Never Could Have Guessed

a lecture on creativity and imagination
co-sponsored by Church at Charlotte and ArtsCharlotte

On the evening of September 23, Jonathan Rogers, author of The World According to Narnia will be speaking on the idea that C.S. Lewis calls “Joy”–that inconsolable longing this world raises within us, but cannot satisfy. Joy, according to Lewis, is a clue to the meaning of the universe, for it suggests that we were made for another world where those longing can be fulfilled. Rogers will explore the place of this Joy in imaginative art and literature. This time will be appropriate for all adults and students who are interested in creativity and imagination.
